Incandescent light bulbs and Compact Flourescent devices

A very interesting article.
I must admit I had been led to believe that CFL's were MANY times more efficient than the traditional light bulb.
I had heard about the curious effects that CFL's have on the power supply - but I did not realise the power factor issue - and that it seems using these devices does little favour to the source power generation.

Like most people We have used quite a few of these in our home, and it is nice at last to see some hard facts.

A very interesting article. I've copied it to my work e-mail, to peruse it further at work, where they are just beginning the messy process of trying to find alternative's to incandescent lamps for the hundreds of lighting fixtures there.
