Lol, this guy MikeMonard Steel DeFois started chatting me in PA and asked if I wanted some crafted armour or weapon. The name sounded quite familiar to me, and I soon remembered people had warned about him in public chat for being a scammer. So I thought I could have some fun with him :D

[MikeMonard Steel DeFois]: hi

[Una Griph Alconbury]: Hey

[MikeMonard Steel DeFois]: i ama crafter

[MikeMonard Steel DeFois]: are u interested in an armour... weapon?

[Una Griph Alconbury]: what can you craft then?

[MikeMonard Steel DeFois]: anything
(that answer definitely made me sure this was the guy I thought lol :D)

[MikeMonard Steel DeFois]: what would you like?

[Una Griph Alconbury]: Give me an example

[Una Griph Alconbury]: Some L weapons

[MikeMonard Steel DeFois]: isis

[MikeMonard Steel DeFois]: but I can do others also

[Una Griph Alconbury]: CB5?

[MikeMonard Steel DeFois]: sure

[MikeMonard Steel DeFois]: like that?

[MikeMonard Steel DeFois]: high damage
(yeah riiiight.. damage is 4-8, and it's looted! :D)

[Una Griph Alconbury]: lol, nice try, that's a looted gun

Then he logged off and I had a great laugh :D

Seems like he wanted to get something from me so that he could go craft the stuff, and then not return with anything, or something like that. Now you are warned ;) Probably he won't use this avatar anymore if his name becomes well-known so maybe you will never meet him, but you should always be careful with people coming up to you and giving offers. Never pay anyone in advance, unless you know the guy.

Thanks for the warning Una, nice to know what silly scammers are up to, lol

The best rule of thumb is to think "would I do this in real life?". The answer is usually no when a scammer is involved. That's worked for me so far.

Scammers are everywhere. Just be on your toes. As they say if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is. :D
