I feel a bit of tension in the air. Rebellion and a certain amount of hostility  What are you opinions on the foot guards and the possibility of having them before VU9.1??

I managed to buy some cheap... both Shogun and Gremlin... the markup plummeted :) would have been nice to loot some though.

I dont think i can get the needed footguards before VU 9.1 comes in.
I need Ghost foot guards , think that they are crafted and MA has only given out a low ammount of BP´s to the same supported crafters. These crafters seems to not produce a bigger ammount of them and are on the way to make themself a golden nose :(
I dont bother very much about this atm because since the armor change fee i manly hunt without armor

I spent many hours and peds hunting the mobs which drop nemesis boots, as that is my mainly worn armour. It seems many players, as well as myself, failed to loot any nemesis that they could wear. Meanwhile MA insist that the boots have a high droprate and are "not rare", while gleefully benefitting from all the ammo, decay, deposits made by hunters trying to loot these boots.
Sorry MA but I won't be hunting much for a long time. :yeah:

I got my feet for the two sets I'm using, Pixie and Shogun, waiting in storage. I have also looted two pair of Vigilante feet (M and F), one pair of Gremlin (F) and one pair of Kobold (F). Think we got some Gnome feet last EuTropian Beacon Mission as well. So for me it has been a pretty good drop rate. I have gotten these from relatively easy mobs though, haven't tried much on harder ones. Except some Allophyls, no feet there...

I also bought my Shogun Foot-Guards and have them ready to use. I would prefer however if the foot-guards were worn above shoes :p
I believe that the addition of foot-guards in EU only improves the appearance of the armor as a whole but really it is a "painful" addition as far as PED are concerned :(

I've got some for my older sets (just for completeness), but I'm yet to get Shogun or Ghost. Shogun is cheap in auction, but keeps going downward, so I'm just waiting until I actually need them.
Ghost on the other hand is still high. As Stratos said, they're crafted, so it could be to do with the BP droprate. However, I'm more cynical, and I think the crafters are keeping the price high to generate more income.
I've also looted Vigilante twice, but that was ages ago and the markup was high, so I sold them :-D

What do you mean by that? I've never actually put foot-guards on :-)

You have to remove your shoes to put foot-guards on
I tried it as soon as I got them :(

FOOTGUARDS?? Does this now mean that you will get more damage if you don't wear footguards?:Beaten:

Yeap. This is how MA forces you to spend PED. PED that could be used elsewhere.
Before VU 9.1 the armor provides full protection without foot-guards. After VU 9.1 you are going to need foot-guards to complete any armor set for full protection. :(

I need crafted Ghost but until the price falls to somewhere near the rest of the armour i will use Shogun or something similar:(.
I have failed to loot Vigi yet but the price is not to bad at the moment but i can see it rising if more sets do not loot soon:mad:.
I have looted only Pixie so far but it has come in handy for the NOTM Prize :D.
So i would say with the lack of Footguards MA has really 'stitched us':mad::mad::mad::mad:

After hunting recently with the stupid 'This item is busy' messages - what the hell is it doing? I don't pay for my items to be doing something other than hacking mobs or finding deposits!
..and FAP charges that magically disappear, funnilly enough just when an argo hunter decided he doesn't like the look of you
..and miss rates that bear no resemblance to the stats
..and ever decreasing hit points on the same weapons with more skills
..and
..and
I think now the requirement for foot guards that - by the way - make my shoes decay every time I want to wear them - is just about becoming the last straw.
I'm going to go back to orange and bare feet and become entropia's first monk.

You have to remove your shoes to put foot-guards on
What an utterly stupid idea. They could have at least made it consistent with the way the rest of the armor set works...

They did Erach. When you put your helmet on you have to remove your hat and shades which were left alone before. When you put on your boots now you have to remove your shoes. Next we will have to hunt naked and remove all our cloths just to put the armor on. OK OK I know this might be a good idea for some :rotfl:.
More and more I do things with out armor. There are a lot of mining areas with no mobs. :D

Beware for the evil toe snatchers.
VU 9.666 Hot Coles, Lava and Frostbite(in blue parts of map) will be introduced
I don't have any shoes on at the moment and like the aboriginals. Im not going to ware anything on my feet anytime soon. Its just a way of life ;)
I plan on wrapping my feet in the thigh armor that I keep finding.
Or, I'll make Dung Shoes (L). That way I'll never run low.

Well, if I ever get back into EU; because getting a pixel shader 3.0 compatible card for an AGP slot (I don't have PCI express slots) that actually says pixel shader 3.0 compatible on the spec is not as easy as it might seem, I'll be wearing footguards over my bare feet:cold:

I currently have an NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GS which is AGP compatible and I believe supports pixel shader 3.0 (my graphics look good).
Dunno if that helps at all :-)

Nexus7, while the AGP cards are slowly becoming less commonly available in shops, there are still many good AGP cards available with PS3.0 support.
Like Erach, I am using a 6800 card, but I can recommend Nvidia 7900GS as a very nice card.
I think the 7950 range is about the fastest from Nvidia with AGP, but the price increase over the 7900 didn't seem worth it.
The older cards such as 6800, 7600 seem to be available at quite good prices now, under $100. Depending on the age of other components in your computer, you may find it better to upgrade now to a less expensive lower spec AGP PS3.0 card, and put the extra $ towards a future whole new computer where all the components will be new, hopefully giving better overall performance.
ATI also make nice cards, so you are not limited to Nvidia.

Thanks - I'll be getting onto my local pc-shop right away although they seem to have problems getting anything AGP recently; and thanks to you too Burgerman for the other specs.

I won't really wear footguards over bare feet coz I'll never know what I might step on.

I have never really payed much attention to the foot guards discussions I guess, and well they haven't been that constructive either. Mainly lots of irrelevant whining tbh. But one thing is for sure, the foot guards are implemented.
And I have the pair I need, wasnt a big cost for me and I enjoy the development that is taking place in game. No question about it is that MA need to make money just like all other game developers. How they do it I let other worry about...
I'm mainly sick of all whining about every change that is taking place lol.
The main problems with the game imo is, and will probably stay, Lag, other players and the time consumption

That is nice. I am happy for you.
Unfortunately, not everyone has the footguards they need. Not everyone can afford the footguards they need. Showing a care towards other players is always important I think.

Thankyou. Many of us are worrying about it. You call it whining.

Sorry to have to disagree with you. The main problem since VU9 is that MA has lost a lot of credibility, and shown how little they care about the players/depositors/participants in their little universe.
Much of the discussion in the forums since VU9 has not been only about the changes, but HOW MA and support have chosen to behave.
My main problem with footguards is the sudden addition to the game, with the lame excuse that MA always planned 7 armour parts ( next year will they add an 8th part and claim it was always planned?) and Marco posting that footguards would not be rare, yet many people have posted about the shortage of footguards in loots.
My main problem with clothing is that MA hypes EU as a style/fashion/image game, where people take interest and pride in their clothing and appearance and housing, yet MA gleefully break the colour fields in many items of clothing and furniture. Then support say the colouring cannot be fixed. Later support post that the colouring can be fixed on selected items.
I could say more but I really can no longer be bothered. Honesty, integrity, credibility, respect - these are all aspects of successful business and customer care in enlightened western countries. I am sorry if these business aspects have not yet reached MA, but I think they need to seriously rethink their behaviour if they expect to survive in international gaming.

Well I can only speak for my self, but I still think there is nothing new here Burger. They do this every VU, same thing happen in rl, usually every day. And real life don't try to fcuk (censorship)?? us or does it? Yes ofc it does!...
I daily see the same discussion about taxes, wealthfare changes etc etc on tv and in magazines and its the same reaction from the crowd, uhh buhuu blaaa taxes kill me, I will loose this, more costs etc etc, gas prices, enviorment taxes.
Changes is part of vl as in rl and when humans run business things are messed up, usually ok, but sometime messed up.
Either they do it for the best of the participants in the long run = the inhabitants, us the entropians. Or if they do it for their own good = the world, nation, collective Mindark or whatever.
Thats my point, and yes I think I disagree with u to the point that I cant see that we will ever agree on this topic. Other than that they could explain how this will bring positive effects to us in the future, like normal politicians or company owners. But we will never see the whole story, that would in the end ruin the game I believe, we are the crowd, the mob, the whiners.
But I still Love u old Burger ;) even if my opinion may vary
Edit : We can say I chose to trust MA on this topic, if I didn't trust MA I might have expressed my self differently. However in this case I dont question their actions and/or believe a other way to act would have been so much better. This doesn't mean im naive and swallow all shit that is coming in my way, just that this particular case doesn't deserve such attention

On days when I'm in a lot of pain, it can be very hard not to be upset at some of the crazy things MA does.
However, I am feeling good today, and I found this pic which I hope you all get a chuckle from.

I might see if I can upload it onto a display sign, and hang it up in my apartment on the wall. :D
And of course I still love ya Klod. EU would be absolutely no fun without cool cats like you playing. :yeah: 8) :D
